Stampeders Name Guest Coaches for 2019 Training Camp
The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce six guest coaches who will be on the field for certain portions of 2019 training camp.
Darrell Adams: Adams is the defensive coordinator in addition to serving as the recruiting and video coordinator at the University of Waterloo. He served as the defensive line coach and head strength and conditioning coordinator at Carleton University from 2013-15. Adams spent the 2011-12 seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as their assistant defensive line coach. He played for the New York Jets and as well as the Ticats as a defensive lineman before entering the coaching ranks.
Kelly Bates: Most recently the offensive quality control coach for the Edmonton Eskimos in 2018, Bates was also the head coach for the Simon Fraser Clan from 2015-17 and the running backs coach for the BC Lions from 2012-14. He would later add the title of Canadian draft coordinator for the Lions. A former offensive lineman, Bates began his playing career in BC and also spent time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Eskimos.
Carl Brennan: The offensive line coach for the Universite de Laval for a total of 19 years over two stints, Brennan also has experience in the CFL including one season as a member of the Stampeders coaching staff in 2004. He has also been with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Eskimos and has previously been a guest coach at multiple Stampeders training camps.
Dwayne Cameron: A longtime coach at Wilfrid Laurier University, Cameron is currently the Golden Hawks' special-teams coordinator, defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator. During his first coaching stint at Wilfrid Laurier, he was part of a Vanier Cup championship team in 2005. Cameron is also returning as a guest coach.
Wes Lysack: Lysack is currently the co-head coach and defensive coordinator for the Calgary Rage of the Western Women's Canadian Football League. He was a first-round draft pick of the Stampeders in 2003 and was a member of the team's Grey Cup-championship squad in 2008. He finished up his playing days with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Argonauts.
Damaso Munoz: Munoz began his professional playing career with the Edmonton Eskimos and, after two seasons, signed with the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Miami native then returned to the CFL to play for the Ottawa RedBlacks. Munoz was the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach at Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for the 2018 season.
Main training camp gets underway on Sunday at 9:05 a.m.
