Stampede Weekly Update: Surging Stampede Home Sunday Vs Lincoln

The Stampede (23-14-5) will look to extend their seven-game home winning streak this Sunday when they host the Lincoln Stars at 6:05 PM. It will be the first of three straight games against the Stars. Lincoln enters the week just three points behind the Stampede for fourth place in the Western Conference.

The Herd begin the weekend with a game in Kearney, NE against Tri-City on Friday before traveling to Des Moines on Saturday and returning home on Sunday to face Lincoln. Game times are 7:05 PM. The Herd have won four straight games overall.

The Stampede enter the week just three points behind third place Fargo, four points behind second place Omaha and six points behind first place Dubuque in the Western Conference.

Stampede rally to top Musketeers in front of sellout crowd

The Stampede rallied from a 3-1, third period deficit to top Sioux City 4-3 Saturday night at the arena. The game was played in front of a capacity crowd of 4,764!

Trailing 3-1, Christian Isackson and Ryan Jacobson scored goals 10 seconds apart to tie the game before Dominic Zombo tallied the eventual game winner at 11:54 of the third.

Thanks to all the fans who came out to support the Herd and cheer them on to their seventh straight home win!

Wiener Dog Race Champions Crowned

The 4th Annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic "Wiener Dog Races" were another success! Congratulations to "Frank" who took home first place in the first race! Walter B. Wiener took home second place. In the second race, "Chloe" took home the championship while "Cooper" captured second place.

Thanks for all who helped make it a success and helped raise money for Dakota Dachshund Rescue! We will have total amounts later in the week and will also have photos from the race posted on our Facebook page later in the week!

Youth Hockey Player of the Week

Tune into Inside Stampede Hockey today for the announcement of this week's Hockey Headquarters "Youth Hockey Player of the Week."

Prosser to appear on Inside Stampede Hockey

Former Stampede star defenseman Nate Prosser will be a guest today on Inside Stampede Hockey from 5-6 PM on KWSN AM-1230.

Prosser signed a contract with the Minnesota Wild in the off-season and is currently playing with their top affiliate, the Houston Aeros. Prosser has tallied 12 points (6g, 12a) and is a plus-5 in 57 games this season for the Aeros who are tied for first place in the West Division.

Connolly, Peterson & Redmond team leaders

Former Stampede players Jack Connolly, Erik Peterson and Zach Redmond are leading their respective teams in scoring.

Connolly, a junior, has 45 points (12g, 33a) for #5 Minnesota-Duluth. He ranks fifth in the country in scoring. Peterson, a senior, has 23 points (12g, 11a) for Bentley University while Redmond, a senior, has 20 points (7g, 13a) for Ferris State as a defenseman. Minnesota-Duluth has just two weeks left of play in the regular season while Bentley and Ferris State close out regular season play this weekend.

Redmond is a captain at Ferris State while Connolly is an assistant captain at Duluth and Peterson is an assistant captain at Bentley.
