Stampede Weekly Update 11-21: Thanksgiving Fun this Week with the Herd

The Sioux Falls Stampede (6-5-1) return home for a pair of games around Thanksgiving. Celebrate Thanksgiving on Wednesday as the Stampede host the Fargo Force at 7:05 PM. Fargo is 5-9-2 on the season. The Herd return home for some post-Thanksgiving fun on Friday when they host the Western Conference leading Lincoln Stars at 7:05 PM. The Stars are a conference best 10-5-0 on the season.

Stampede top Bucs for first road win

Todd Skirving scored twice while Stephon Williams stopped 39 shots in goal to lead the Stampede past the Des Moines Buccaneers 4-2 Saturday night in Urbandale, Iowa. The win was the first of the season on the road for the Stampede who improved to 5-1-0 on Saturday night's this season.

Stampede blood drive tomorrow!

Don't miss the 10th annual "Score One For Life Blood Drive" this Tuesday, November 22nd from 7 AM to 1 PM at the Avera McKennan Fitness Center and again from 4 PM to 7 PM at Culver's on South Louise Avenue.

Pre-Thanksgiving fun this Wednesday

Don't miss the Stampede in action this Wednesday as they host the Fargo Force at 7:05 PM. Stampede players will be wishing fans a Happy Thanksgiving plus three lucky fans will have a chance to compete in the Pepsi "Pie Eating Contest" where three contestants will battle to see who can eat a pie the fastest!

Kevin Hartzell Night this Friday

You'll want to come early on Friday as the Stampede salute their all-time winningest coach on Kevin Hartzell Night. The first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive a FREE coach Hartzell mustache!

The Herd will be showing some old photos of the coach throughout the night. Think your mustache is just as good as coach' We'll be looking for fans with the best mustache's and putting you on the video board!

Stampede Christmas Sale set for December 3rd

The Stampede will be holding a special Christmas sale inside the Sioux Falls Pheasants clubhouse next Saturday, December 3rd from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Purchase $50 or more in merchandise an receive $10 off your purchase, $100 or more and receive $25 off or a FREE Stampede hat or $150 or more and get $35 off or a FREE Stampede shirt.

In addition to shopping, fans can enjoy pastries, hot chocolate, apple cider and more! There will even be an appearance by Santa Claus himself! This special sale will take place inside the Pheasants clubhouse located at Sioux Falls Stadium.

Connolly leads Bulldogs to sweep over Mankato

Former Stampede star Jack Connolly (2007-08) continued his impressive start to the season for UMD with a four point weekend against Minnesota State-Mankato.

On Friday, Connolly tallied a goal in the Bulldogs 5-2 victory. On Saturday, he tallied goal and two assists in a 7-3 route of the Mavericks. He is tied for first in the nation in scoring with 21 points on 8 goals and 13 assists in 14 games.

Thomas Vanek (1999-02) is fourth in the NHL in scoring with 24 points (11g, 13a) in 20 games....Jacob Micflikier (2001-03) is third in scoring for the Hershey Bears, the top affiliate of the Washington Capitals....Zach Redmond (2005-07) has six points (1g, 5a) and is a +8 in 18 games with the St. John's IceCaps, the top affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets....John Murray (2004-06) is 4-3-0 with a 2.82 GAA and a .918 save percentage in eight games with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL).
