Members of the Sioux Falls Stampede visited the pediatric unit at Avera McKennan Hospital last Thursday for Valentine's Day.
The players handed out teddy bear's that were graciously donated by Stampede fans. The players also took time to visit with the children in the hospital, sign autographs and pose for photos.
Thanks to all the fans who donated bears for the visit as you helped brighten the day of several children. The response was so overwhelming the Stampede will be making another trip to the hospital in March to deliver the bears that didn't make the first trip!
JENSEN JOINS CAROLINA HURRICANES-
Former Stampede forward Joe Jensen was recalled by the Carolina Hurricanes Monday. He was called up after the Hurricanes placed team captain Rod Brind'Amour on injured reserve. He played from 2000 to 2002 with the Stampede, tallying 80 points (34g, 46a) in 113 games.
Jensen, 24, appeared in six games for the Albany River Rats (AHL) since being acquired by Carolina in a trade with Pittsburgh on January 31st. The Maple Grove, Minnesota native played in 27 games and had four points (2g, 2a) for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins prior to the trade; he also tallied seven points (4g, 3a) in 9 games with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.
