ICE PACKS: The Ice is 1-2-0 in their first three seasons in the USHL on "Pack the House Night" and
3-3-3 in the nine all-time games played at Conseco Fieldhouse.
PTH- 2/12/05- Jimmy Spratt (BGSU) led Sioux City to a 3-0 shutout of the Ice with a 28-save effort....Pat Watson (Merrimack) stopped 24 shots in net for Indy.
PTH- 2/25/06- Garrett Roe (St. Cloud St.) scored his second of two goals at 2:46 of overtime to lift the Ice past Des Moines 5-4....John Kemp and Eddie Del Grosso (UNO) combined for seven assists.
PTH- 2/3/07- The Ice trailed early to Green Bay 5-1, but rallied for four straight goals to tie the game at five....Mike Borisenok then scored for Green Bay at 16:05 of the third to lift them to a 7-5 victory...Greg Squires led all Indiana players with two goals and an assist
SCORING WING: Veteran winger Greg Squires continues his torrid 2008 stretch as he extended his point streak to five games over the weekend with two goals and two assists in the games out west. Squires has eight points (3G, 5A) during the five-game stretch and he has 17 points (5G, 12A) in his last ten games. He recorded his sixth three-or-more point game of the season in Saturday's win at Tri-City and he is now the top scorer in the USHL with 52 points (18G, 34A) for the year.
PAUL'S BOUTIQUE: With two goals in Saturday's win and points in five of his last six games, forward Paul Carey registered his fifth multiple goal game of the year which leaves him one behind Todd McIlrath (BGSU) for most multi-goal games in a season for an Ice player. He is also just two goals shy of Tomas Klempa's (UNO) all-time season mark for goals in a season (25).
PLAYER NOTES: Scott Darling is 7-1-2 with a 1.93 GAA and a .943 SV% in his last ten starts in net and he has a franchise-best 21 wins for the season....Defensemen John Carlson (9), Ben Blood (8) and Nick Bailen (7) are three of the top seven goal-scorers among USHL defensemen...Bailen has a goal in two consecutive games....Jake Skjodt has six points (2G, 4A) in his last four games....T.J. Syner has five points (3G, 2A) in his last four contests.
TEAM NOTES: The Ice reached the 30-win plateau for the first time in franchise history with Saturday's 6-4 win....Indiana has not given up a power play goal in their last three games (16/16) and has moved into third in the USHL on the penalty kill (192/225, 85.3%)....The Ice is 7-0-1 in their last eight games, 19-2-3 at home, 17-4-2 versus the East Division and 19-2-5 in one-goal games.
