Stampede To Announce Home-Opener Details
The San Angelo Stampede Express indoor football team on Tuesday will make an exciting announcement regarding its Children's Miracle Network Game versus the Corpus Christi Hammerheads.
The announcement will be made at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Paula Sue's Cafe, 1911 S. Bryant Boulevard. During the event, team officials will discuss the details of its two-day kickoff party on March 26-27.
The Stampede Express, which last season qualified for the Indoor Football League playoffs, play the first of their seven home games at San Angelo Coliseum on March 27. Every seat in the house for that game costs only $10, with the team donating $1 from each ticket sold to the Children's Miracle Network. Tickets may be purchased at the Stampede Express offices, 2210 Austin St., or by calling (325) 947-DOWN (3696).
The team opened its season last week with a tough 33-26 loss to the Arkansas Diamonds. The Stampede Express will be on the road again Saturday when they take on the rival Abilene Ruff Riders.
The Stampede Express are led this year by coach Clint Dolezel, one of the most prolific passers in the Arena Football League's history. During his 13-year AFL career, Dolezel threw for 44,564 yards and 955 touchdowns. He is also a scout for the Dallas Cowboys.
Following the home-opener, tickets to Stampede Express games can be purchased at www.sanangelotexas.us, or at the team's offices at 2210 Austin St.; the McNease Convention Center, 500 Rio Concho Drive; Blair's Western Wear, 4230 Sherwood Way; Elite Physique, 3109 Knickerbocker Road; and the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo Association, 200 W. 43rd St. Tickets may also be purchased by calling (325) 947-DOWN (3696) or (325) 658-6464, or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ticket prices range from $11 to $25. Season ticket packages can be purchased for $70 per ticket for end zone seats, $95 for mid-zone seats, and $150 for box seats. Season tickets must be purchased at the team's offices.
The remainder of the Stampede Express' home games will be:
April 3 vs. Abilene.
April 10 vs. West Texas.
April 17 vs. Arkansas.
May 8 vs. Abilene.
June 5 vs. Austin.
June 19 vs. Amarillo.
All games kick off at 7:05 p.m. and are played in the Coliseum, 50 E. 43rd St.
The Stampede Express will compete in the IFL's Lone Star East Division against Arkansas, Corpus Christi, and the Austin Turf Cats.
