
Stampede Take Down Thunderbirds Thanks to Triple-Double

Albuquerque, N.M., March 11, 2007 -- Randy Livingston recorded a triple-double for the Idaho Stampede Sunday afternoon in route to a 91 - 87 victory over the Albuquerque Thunderbirds. Tony Bland had a game high 37 points, to go along with 10 rebounds and 7 assists in a losing effort for the Thunderbirds.
Idaho has now won six games in a row and 10 of their last 11 to take over first place in the Western Conference. Livingston had a game high 19 assists to go along with 11 rebounds and 16 points, most of which came late in the game from the free-throw line. Luke Jackson led Idaho in scoring with 21 points on 7 - 12 shooting.
For the Thunderbirds, it is their third straight loss at home coming on the heels of their seven game winning streak. The Thunderbirds had four players score in double digits; including Andreas Glyniadakis who recorded a double-double, 20 points and 12 rebounds.
The Stampede held Albuquerque to 22 % shooting from the field in the first quarter, and outscored the Thunderbirds 10 - 0 in fast break points in the quarter helping to open up a 9 point lead, 20 - 11.
The Thunderbirds stiffened on defense in the second quarter holding Idaho to 33% shooting from the field in the quarter. Bland and Shipp each pitched in 6 points in the quarter for Albuquerque helping the Thunderbirds cut the Stampede lead to 37 - 36 at the half.
Albuquerque earned their first lead of the game using a 9 - 2 run to start the third quarter. Robinson had six points in the quarter for the Stampede helping them keep the game close through three quarters. By the end of the quarter, both teams found themselves in a dog fight with Albuquerque clinging to a scant 59 - 58 lead.
Idaho next heads home for three games; they will host the Austin Toros, Wednesday, March 14th before entertaining the Anaheim Arsenal, Friday and Saturday, March 16th and 17th.
The Thunderbirds hit the road next week for a two game road trip in California, Friday, March 16th vs. the L.A. D-Fenders at 4:30pm and at Bakersfield, Sunday, March 18th to take on the Jam at 5pm.
