Idaho Stampede News Release

Boise, ID (July 5, 2005) - Former Idaho Stampede players appear on the rosters of many NBA teams participating in the Reebok Vegas Summer League July 6 through 15. In addition, Head Coach Joe Wolf is serving as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets for the duration of the RVSL while scouting players for the upcoming CBA season.

Sam Clancy, the Stampede's all-star forward who was named 2005 CBA Most Valuable Player, is on the roster of the New Jersey Nets. He is joined by former Idaho players Awvee Storey and Noel Felix.

Last season's starting point guard, Taliek Brown, is on the roster of the Chicago Bulls, while DeSean Hadley is playing for the New Orleans Hornets. Patrick Okafor is on the roster of the Sacramento Kings.

Two Idaho Stampede picks from the 2004 CBA College Draft are in Las Vegas as well. Blake Stepp (Gonzaga) is with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Brian Boddicker (Texas) is with the Nets. Former Stampede head coach Rory White will be at the RVSL in his role as assistant coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Las Vegas venue has quickly become the premiere location for NBA summer league action, as its inaugural six-team event last season has blossomed into a 16-team competition this year. Teams scheduled to appear in Vegas this summer include the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings and Washington Wizards.
