Sioux Falls Stampede News Release


The Sioux Falls Stampede defeated West Division rival Omaha, 4-3 on Friday night. David Solway, Zach Hansen and Drew Fisher all tallied a goal and an assist on the night. Ryan Guentzel added two assists while Max Strang stopped 19 of 22 shots in goal to earn his third win of the season. In four games this season, Strang is 3-0-0 with a 2.56 GAA and a .895 save percentage.

On Saturday, the Stampede fell to the Green Bay Gamblers 2-1 in a penalty filled game. In all, 25 penalties were called for a total of 66 minutes. Down 1-0 in the first, the Stampede came back at 11:30 when Brad Malone found Erik Peterson open in front of the Green Bay net to make it 1-1. The goal was Peterson's second of the season. After a scoreless second period, Mike Sislo scored the eventual game winning goal on the powerplay at 12:54 for the Gamblers.

This Saturday, the Stampede will play host to I-29 rival Sioux City at 7:05 PM. Tickets are still available.

Game times both night's are 7:05 PM.

"Score One For Life" Blood Drive this Tuesday-

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the fifth annual "Score One For Life" community blood drive at the Sioux Falls Arena and Cold Stone Creamery across from Century Theatres at 2425 S. Shirley Ave.

The blood drive will take place from 7 AM to 12 PM at the Sioux Falls Arena with special guest appearance by head coach Kevin Hartzell from 7 AM to 9 AM. There will be several Stampede players appearing at Cold Stone Creamery from 4 PM to 6 PM, handing out free slices of ice cream cake.

Cold Stone Creamery will provide everyone that signs up to donate blood during the morning and afternoon sessions with two (2) Stampede tickets to the Wednesday, Dec. 13th home game vs Waterloo and a certificate for a free Cold Stone "LOVE IT ORIGINAL" ice cream treat.

Vanek to appear on

Inside Stampede Hockey-

Former Stampede star Thomas Vanek will appear on "Inside Stampede Hockey" today at 5 PM on AM-1230 KWSN. Vanek is currently playing with the Buffalo Sabres and is second on the team in scoring with 24 points (13g, 11a) in 20 games. He is second in the league in the plus/minus category at a plus-16.

Tune in today and get the latest news notes on the Stampede. Head Coach Kevin Hartzell will be in studio to talk about this past weekend and to preview this week's matchups against Tri-City, Omaha and Sioux City.

It will also be the debut of the "Malony Pony Show" with Stampede forward Brad Malone. Malone went inside the Stampede locker room to get players views on the season thus far and to find out what his teammates will be doing this Thanksgiving.

PLAYER CARD NIGHT SATURDAY-

Be among the first 1,500 fans through the doors this Saturday night when the Stampede host their I-29 rival Sioux City Musketeers at the Sioux Falls Arena and receive the final set of Stampede player cards, compliments of Mueller Pallets. The collectible card set will contain six (6) Stampede Player Cards,
