
RoughRiders Acquire Bachman from Chicago for McGann, Miele

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have acquired highly regarded goaltender Richard Bachman from the Chicago Steel in exchange for goaltender Pat McGann and forward Andy Miele, the RoughRiders announced today.
"We're very happy to have the chance to acquire a quality goaltender in Richard Bachman," said RoughRiders Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson. "We think he and Kent Patterson give us a very strong tandem in goal."
Bachman, 19, is a Dallas Stars draft pick and has already committed to Colorado College. The Highlands Ranch, Colorado, native was chosen by the Stars in the fourth round of June's National Hockey League draft with one hundred twentieth selection. The 5' 11", 180-pound netminder is in his first season in the United States Hockey League after being taken by the Steel with the number one overall pick in May's USHL draft.
McGann, 19, went 3-3-0 in six games with the RoughRiders this season, posting a 3.70 goals against average and a .874 save percentage. Last year McGann went 5-8-3 in 17 games with the Riders while turning in a 2.95 goals against average and a .910 save percentage. The Riders picked McGann in the nineteenth round of the 2005 USHL draft with the one hundred sixty-seventh overall choice. The Evergreen Park, Illinois native was taken by the Stars in the seventh round of the 2005 NHL draft with the two hundred twenty-third selection.
Miele, 18, has scored seven goals and totaled 14 points in 13 games this season. The Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, native scored ten times and recorded 27 points in 52 games last year. Miele will play his college hockey at Miami of Ohio.
Bachman will be available to play when the RoughRiders (9-4-0, 18 points) return to action Thursday night in Waterloo against the Black Hawks. The Riders, who are two points behind Waterloo in the race for first place in the USHL's East Division, will return home to host the Black Hawks Friday night at 7:05. The Riders will play their third game in as many nights when the visit the Green Bay Gamblers Saturday evening.
Tickets for all remaining RoughRider regular season home games- including this Friday's- are now on sale. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 in advance and from $8 to $18 on game days.
