Stampede Go for 14th Straight New Year's Eve

The Stampede return home to the Sioux Falls Arena on New Years Eve (Saturday, Dec. 31st) to host the Tri-City Storm at 6:05 PM. The Stampede are currently riding a franchise best 13-game home winning streak. Kids bring your skates and join the McDonald's Post-Game Skating Party immediately following the contest! Every fan participating in the Skating Party or Autograph Session will receive "Free" Stampede Photo Cards!

After the game, up to ten (10) Stampede players will join the fans on ice for a 30-minute skating session. All remaining players will be available for an autograph session near the team dressing room for non-skating fans. No Skates will be rented. No person will be allowed on the arena ice without skates.

STAMPEDE PREPARE FOR BUSY WEEK

The Stampede will officially close out the first half of the season this week with three games in four days. The Stampede return to action this Wednesday in Sioux City to take on the Musketeers at 7:05 PM. The Herd own a 3-0-0 record versus the Muskies this season. John Murray started all three games, posting a 1.95 GAA and a .926 save percentage. Andreas Nödl has five points (3g, 2a) in three games versus the Musketeers.

The Stampede will continue play Friday in Kearney, NE when they take on the Tri-City Storm at 7:05 PM. The Herd are 2-0-0 versus the Storm this season, including a 3-2 win back on November 23rd in Sioux Falls. The Herd will close out the first half of the season on Saturday when they host Tri-City in the second of the home-and-home series at 6:05 PM at the Sioux Falls Arena. Oshie Scores in Team USA's Win

Former Stampede forward T.J. Oshie recorded the first goal in Team USA's 11-2 drubbing of Team Norway in the opening game at the 2006 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships at the Pacific Coliseum In Vancouver, B.C. Chris Bourque, son of NHL Hall-of-Famer Ray Bourque, led the way tallying five goals on the night while University of Minnesota star, Phil Kessel tallied five assists in the win.

Oshie is currently the second leading scorer for the University of North Dakota with 21 points (11g, 10a) in 20 games. His 11 goals rank second nationally among Division 1 freshman. Oshie and Team USA return to action tomorrow night to face Team Finland at 10 PM (Central Time).
