Stampede Close Out Day One Of Tryout Camp

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-The Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club closed out day one of the team's 2023 Tryout Camp Thursday evening. Stampede prospects competed in four games during day one of the weekend. Each game hosted two twenty-five-minute periods with an intermission in the middle.

Starting off the schedule was Team Sillinger vs Team Swayman, with Team Sillinger taking the 5-3 win. JJ Wiebusch marked Team Sillinger's game-winning goal after an assist from Ryan Murphy.

Game two came down to the wire with Team Ruhwedel scoring in the final push to take the win over Team Lindgren, 4-3. One of Stampede's 2023 Phase II Draft picks, Holden Doell, got Team Ruhwedel on the board first with a couple of assists from Merril Steenari and Tanner Rausch. Additional goals coming from Tyler Dahms, Andrew Leung, and Jackson Smithknecht, Team Ruhwedel set themselves up for the win.

During the second half of the day, Team Joshua was able to overthrow Team Redmond with a final score of 2-1. Another Stampede draftee, Holden Pajor, opened the scoring for team Joshua with Mason Grinnell sealing the deal for the team. On the opposite end of the ice, Jack Christ got Team Redmond on the board for their solo goal.

Teams Goligoski and O'Connor closed out day one with a 4-2 win for Team Goligoski. Zach Nehring and Jaksen Panzer marked two goals for Team Goligoski in the first period, with Bryce Laager earning an additional two of his own in the second period, setting Team Goligoski up for a 4-2 win over O'Connor.

Day two of Tryout Camp begins at 8:00 a.m. Friday at the Scheels IcePlex. The schedule starts off with Team Sillinger taking on Team Lindgren and the final puck of the day will drop at 8:15 p.m. between Teams Goligoski and Redmond.
