
Stampede Battle Fargo Sunday Night

The Stampede (16-7-7) have just nine regular season home games remaining, making the Sioux Falls Arena the place to be this Sunday when the Herd host rival Fargo at 6:05 PM. The Stampede enter the weekend in third place in the West Division, just six points behind Fargo for second with two games in hand.
The Stampede are 3-1-1 against the Force this season, including a 6-5 loss in Sioux Falls on January 3rd. Fargo is the hottest team in the USHL, winning eight straight games and are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games. The Force bring a balanced scoring attack to the arena, with eight players posting 20 or more points. Matt Leitner leads the team with 34 points (15g, 19a) in 26 games.
Prior to Sunday's game, the Herd will travel to Kearney, NE to face Tri-City at 7:05 PM. The Stampede are 2-1-0 against the Storm this season. The Herd lost a heartbreaker to Tri-City last Saturday in Sioux Falls when Jaden Schwartz scored with just 22 seconds remaining in regulation to lift Tri-City to victory. The Storm are 14-12-6 and in fourth place in the West Division, five points behind Sioux Falls for third.
FOUR STAMPEDE PLAYERS HEADED TO USHL ALL-STAR GAME
Matt Lindblad, Chad Ruhwedel, Mike Voran and Clay Witt have been named to the West Division roster for the 2010 USHL All-Star Game, January 26th in Indianapolis, IN.
Stampede players have had a history of success at USHL All-Star Games, taking home MVP honors five times in the club's 10-year history (Rick Gorman in 1999, Thomas Vanek in 2001, Jim McKenzie in 2003, Andreas Nodl in 2005 and Corey Tropp in 2006).
STAMPEDE FAMILY NIGHT THIS SUNDAY
The third of four Stampede Family Night's takes place this Sunday, January 17th at 6:05 PM when the Herd entertain Fargo at the Sioux Falls Arena.

SERTOMA SUNDAY RETURNS THIS WEEKEND
The third of four Sertoma Sunday's takes place this Sunday. Fans can take part in special fundraising activities during the game that help benefit the Sertoma Butterfly House.

GOLIGOSKI/PENGUINS FACE WILD TONIGHT ON VERSUS
Former Stampede defenseman Alex Goligoski (2004-05) and the Pittsburgh Penguins travel to St. Paul to face the Minnesota Wild tonight (Monday) on Versus-TV (Midcontinent channel 71) at 7 PM.
Goligoski is off to a hot start, posting 21 points (6g, 15a) in 36 games and has a plus/minus rating of plus-6. Last season, Goligoski tallied 20 points in 45 games for the Stanley Cup champions.
He has recorded at least one assist in three of his last four games for the Penguins who are 28-17-1 and in second place in the Atlantic Division. The Wild are coming off an amazing 6-5 shootout victory over Chicago Saturday, a game in which they trailed 5-1 entering the third period. Minnesota is 22-20-3 and in fourth place in the Northeast Division.
TROPP TO APPEAR ON INSIDE STAMPEDE HOCKEY
Former Stampede star Corey Tropp will appear on Inside Stampede Hockey today (5-6 PM) on Sports Radio 1230-AM KWSN. Tropp leads the country in goals scored with 17 for the Michigan State Spartans and was named CCHA Player-of-the-Month for the month of December after posting seven goals in six games.
Tropp was a part of the Stampede's Anderson Cup and Clark Cup championship teams. Fans can also listen online at www.kwsn.com.
