Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede announced Wednesday the addition of defenseman Garrett Cecere (Sih-SEER) to the team roster.

The name should be familiar to Stampede fans as he skated in 24 games with the Herd during the 2013-14 season, posting 22 points (2g, 20a) and an impressive plus-18 rating. He was acquired from Tri-City midway through that season and helped lead the Stampede to another Clark Cup playoff appearance. Between the two teams, he finished with 37 points in 54 games in 2013-14.

The 5-foot-8, 165-pound left-handed defenseman spent last season skating at Colorado College where he appeared in 34 games and posted 3 assists. A native of West Des Moines, IA, Cecere will join the team immediately and will be available to skate this weekend when the Herd travel to Bloomington and Cedar Rapids. He will wear #8 for the Herd.

Game times this Friday and Saturday are 7:00 PM and fans can catch all the action live on KELO News Talk 1320-AM, 107.9-FM and online at KELO.COM. Fans can also listen via their smart phone by downloading the KELO Radio App for iPhone or Droid device. In addition, fans can watch both games on FASTHockey by visiting ushl.fasthockey.com.
