Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede announced on Tuesday that they have acquired defenseman Marko Reifenberger (RYE-Fihn-ber-ger) along with a second and seventh round selection during the USHL Phase II 2018 draft from the Central Illinois Flying Aces in exchange for defenseman Corson Green and forward Lucas Breault (BRO).

Reifenberger registered two assists in 21 games with the Flying Aces this season. Last year, the Hastings, MN native recorded 11 points (4g, 7a) and 106 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Bloomington Thunder. He was the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 2015 USHL Phase I Draft. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defenseman skated with Hill Murray High School from 2013 to 2016, recording 66 points in 68 career games. Reifenberger has already committed to play collegiate hockey with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Green was in his first season with the Stampede. He appeared in 19 games and registered four points with the Herd. Green was acquired during the summer from the Chicago Steel in a trade from the 2016-17 season. Breault was a second round pick of the Stampede during the Phase I USHL Draft in 2017. He posted six points (2g, 4a) in 24 games with the Herd this season.

Reifenberger is scheduled to join the Stampede immediately and could make his debut this Thursday when the Herd host the Sioux City Musketeers at 7:05 PM. The Herd will then travel to Fargo on Friday before hosting the Force on New Year's Eve for a 6:05 PM start time. Tickets for both games are available now through the KEOLAND Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
