Stampede Acquire Defenseman Muto from Lincoln

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today they have acquired defenseman Vinny Muto from the Lincoln Stars in exchange for a conditional draft pick. He will wear #5 and is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Herd host Sioux City at 7:05 PM.

The Niagara Falls, NY native has appeared in two games with the Stars this season, including opening night against the Herd where he recorded 12 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-1, 204-pound defenseman was a draft pick of the Stars in 2011 and spent last year playing with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the BCHL where he recorded 19 points (6g, 13a) and 52 penalty minutes in 57 games.

The Stampede look to extend their four-game winning streak at home tonight when they host their I-29 rivals from Sioux City. Sioux Falls will then host Tri-City tomorrow night at the arena. The first 1,000 fans through the doors tomorrow night will receive a pair of Stampede ThunderStix. Game times are 7:05 PM each night.
