June 17, 2018 - Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL)
Saugerties Stallions News Release

Saugerties, NY- The Saugerties Stallions played host to the Oneonta Outlaws in a Father's Day matchup between the two division rivals.

The Stallions struck first in the second inning thanks in part to a two-run home run by Dillon Good (Lock Haven).

The Outlaws added a run of their own in the fourth. Steve Minter (Georgia) hit into a fielder's choice and advanced to second after a throwing error by Stallions shortstop, Herman Alvarado (Nycack). Minter would later go on to score after Anthony Eaton's (Brockport) infield single, to trail 2-1.

The Stallions added another insurance run in the fifth after John Dempsey (Wofford) hit an RBI single to score Noah Searcy (Georgia Southern) and give the Stallions a 3-1 lead.

In the sixth the Outlaws Anthony Eaton (Brockport) had a two-RBI double to tie the game at three.

The teams were stuck in a stalemate tied at three, until the Outlaws scored the go ahead run in the eighth. Parker Hendershot (Penn State) hit an RBI single to give them a late 4-3 lead.

Oneonta added another run in the ninth after a Derek Ordorff (Penn State) single gave them a 5-3 lead. The Stallions showed some life in the bottom of the ninth thanks to a Danny Martin (Stetson) leadoff single and a Dillon Lifrieri (Arkansas) double put runners in scoring position with one out. But the Stallions rally would fall short, as they lose to Oneonta, 5-3.

Zack Bowers (Erskine) earned the win and Jason Antalek (Iona) took the loss for the Stallions. Trevor Backman (Marist) picked up his second save of the season.

The Outlaws play their next game tomorrow, June 18 away against the Utica Blue Sox and the Stallions play next on Tuesday, June 19 in Geneva against the Red Wings.
