(Vero Beach, FL) - Three different players hit 2-run home runs to lift the St. Lucie Mets to a 10-3 victory over the Vero Beach Dodgers Tuesday night at Holman Stadium. Jamie Hoffman and Cory Dunlap each hit solo shots for the Dodgers. The series concludes Wednesday night at 7:00 PM.

The Mets wasted little time getting started. Jose Coronado led off the game with a triple and Jose Cruz followed it up with the first 2-run homer for St. Lucie. Dodger starter Alberto Bastardo continued to struggle and with two outs in the first inning, Jesus Flores cracked a 2-run home run of his own. The Mets struck again in the third went Jamar Hill knocked a 2-out, 2-run blast to left off Bastardo to make it 6-0.

St. Lucie continued to pile it on in the 5th. Flores led off with a single against reliever Brent Leach and advanced on a groundout. Jonathan Malo then reached on a walk. Leach seemed to pick him off, but the ball dropped out of first baseman Cory Dunlap's glove and when he couldn't find the ball, Flores scored. Leach then walked two more before Ambiorix Concepcion doubled to clear the bases and put the Mets ahead 10-0.

The Dodgers had plenty of chances in the first half of the game to make it interesting. They left 10 runners on base in the first five innings alone. Their first run came in the fifth when Hoffman led off with his third home run of the season. Blake DeWitt followed with a single and later scored on a base hit by Cole Bruce. Dunlap led off the 7th with his third homer of the year to finish the scoring.
