St. Cloud Norsemen News Release
Minot, N.D. - The St Cloud Norsemen earn a weekend sweep of the Minotauros with a 6-1 victory at Minot on Saturday night.
Four Norsemen skaters scored in the win, led by Ryan O'Neill and Blake Mesenburg each tallying a pair. Jackson Hughes and Nik Hong also lit the lamp in the Norsemen triumph.
Goaltender Tomas Bolo made 22 saves for his 12th win of the season, losing his shutout bid at 9:18 of the third when St. Cloud gave up a shorthanded goal.
The sweep marks the first since the Dec. 10-11 home-and-home wins over the Minnesota Wilderness, and the first road or Central Division sweep since October 1-2 at Aberdeen.
St. Cloud (18-13-0-1) is now two points out of a tie for third place in the Central, with three to six games in hand over the rest of the division and 28 games left to play.
The Norsemen are back home on Friday and Saturday, January 28-29 at 7:00 p.m. against Minot at the Municipal Athletic Complex, following a January 27 road trip to North Iowa, scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT puck drop.
