(Arlington, TN-Office of the Commissioner) In association with Pointstreak Sports Technologies, Inc., The Prospect League announces the Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the period ending June 24, Week 4 of the 2012 season.
The Prospect League Week Four Player is Springfield Sliders catcher Matthew Stevens. Matt batted a hefty .524 (11/21) with 12 runs-batted-in and 3 homeruns for the week ended June 24. For the season, Stevens is batting .333 in 13 games (15/45) with 7 runs scored, 4 HRs, 15 RBI and 5 stolen bases.
The Sliders T R Dunne provided strong relief pitching as Springfield put together its best week of the young season. Dunne picked-up four saves while pitching 5.2 innings, 0 earned runs, 8 strikeouts and 2 walks. Overall T R has appeared in 14 games, 22.1 IP, 21 strikeouts and 5 walks. His record is 1 win, 1 lose and 5 saves with an ERA of 4.84.
