
Spots Still Available for RiverKings Golf Scramble on October 6 at North Creek

SOUTHAVEN --- Hockey fans and golfers are reminded that the Memphis RiverKings' Third Annual Golf Scramble benefiting the Junior RiverKings and Junior StreetKings youth hockey programs is less than a month away. The fundraising event is scheduled for Friday, October 6 at The Club at North Creek in Southaven. In a change from past years, the tournament will be a one flight event with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The tournament fee of $500 for a team of four ($125 per player) includes green fee, cart, use of the driving range, large overflowing goody bag, golf shirt, lunch, dinner and prizes. A portion of the fee is tax-deductible.
The RiverKings open training camp the following Monday (October 9) and many of the 2006-2007 RiverKings players will be on hand at the tournament.
On-course contests will include longest drive, longest putt, closest to the pin as well as a putting contest on the practice green.
Registration for the tournament and the open practice range will run from 11:30 until the 1p.m. shot gun start. Lunch will be provided prior to the start of the tournament. The putting contest finals will be held at 6 p.m with dinner, prizes, live auction and raffle following at 6:30.

The Junior RiverKings and Junior StreetKings Youth Hockey programs, in cooperation with Maddox Sports and Hernando Youth Sports, provide the opportunity for local youth to participate in ice and street hockey programs. Children of all ages receive guidance and instruction from quality and experienced coaches. Through fundraisers like this golf scramble, the involved organizations can continue to integrate, develop and help fund these programs.
Major sponsors of this year's RiverKings Golf Scramble include The Club at North Creek, Nike, Wheeler Homes, Miller Lite and First Choice Catering.
The Club at North Creek is located three and a half miles west of I-55 on Stateline Road.
