Sports explode for 14-9 victory

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports offense came alive Wednesday at Fair Grounds Field pounding out a season high 19 hits and defeated El Paso 14-9.
Shreveport's Chad Gambill hit two home runs and drove in three while Mike Willis had four hits and four RBI's in the victory. Every batter in the Shreveport starting lineup had at least one hit as the Sports evened the series at a game apiece.
El Paso had taken the lead in the third inning scoring five runs, highlighted by a solo home run by John Schmitz, but Shreveport came back and scored six in the bottom of the fourth and never trailed again.
Shreveport and El Paso will meet in the final game of the series Thursday night at Fair Grounds Field. Game time 7:05.
