Sporting Kansas City News Release
Sporting Kansas City will return to the road to play Los Angeles FC, led by reigning MLS Golden Boot winner Denis Bouanga, at 9:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at BMO Stadium in southern California.
The Western Conference clash will be available on Apple TV for MLS Season Pass subscribers and will air locally on Sports Radio 810 WHB and LA Grande 1340 AM. Pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action, including the club's official watch party at No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power and Light District. Food and drink specials will start at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, including $4 domestics, $5 wells and 50% off chicken nachos.
Registration closes today at two locations for the upcoming Sporting Rec League spring season, which welcomes youth players from pre-K to second grade: Compass Minerals Sporting Fields in Kansas City, Kansas (1500 N 90th St.) and Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex in Olathe, Kansas (10541 S Warwick St.). The first spring session of Sporting Stripes and Sporting Stars, early childhood soccer programs for 2-8 year olds, will start on Thursday at Homefield (5000 Bannister Rd.) in Kansas City, Missouri. Tickets for the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T on July 23 and the MLS All-Star Game presented by Target on July 24 will go on sale to the public at 9 a.m. CT on Friday at MLSsoccer.com/AllStar. Both events will take place at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio and will feature MLS All-Stars competing against All-Stars from Mexico's LIGA MX.
A new episode of The Sporting KC Show will air from 6-7 p.m. CT this Friday on Sports Radio 810 WHB with co-hosts Jon Kempin and Blake Aerni recapping Sporting's home opener and previewing Saturday's match-up with MLS Cup 2023 runners-up LAFC. The Sporting KC Show Podcast is available on Spotify, iTunes and SportingKC.com, giving supporters a weekly destination to catch up on club storylines, player achievements, guest interviews and more.
After a 1-1 draw with FC Tulsa on Saturday, Sporting KC II will continue the club's 2024 preseason presented by Central Bank with a pair of exhibition matches this week at Swope Soccer Village (6310 Lewis Rd.) in Kansas City, Missouri. SKC II will first host Rockhurst University at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday followed by the team's preseason finale against Central Methodist University at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. Coming off an appearance in the Western Conference Quarterfinals a season ago, Sporting KC II will kick off this year's MLS NEXT Pro season on March 17.
