Sporting KC to Host Season Kickoff Party

Sporting Kansas City announced today that the club will host a Season Kickoff Party presented by Compass Minerals, adidas and Michelob Ultra from 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at The Truman (601 E. Truman Rd.) in downtown Kansas City with Sporting players all in attendance to celebrate the start of the new MLS campaign.

The special event is open to all ages and fans planning to attend mustreserve a free ticket via SeatGeek while supplies last based on limited venue capacity. Doors will open to all ticket holders beginning at 6:30 p.m. and parking is available in public lots in the area as well as streets surrounding The Truman.

Local bandThe Crossroad Soundwill provide live music for guests from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and MLS Season Pass broadcaster Nate Bukaty will host the event, highlighted by an introduction of Sporting Kansas City's 2024 roster as players take the stage. Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase inside The Truman and a SportingStyle pop-up store will be on site to sell Sporting Kansas City merchandise, including the club's new secondary jersey which will be released and first available to purchase at 10 a.m. on Feb. 14 at SportingStudio in the KC Power & Light District.

Located in the Crossroads Arts District,The Trumanwas originally built in the 1930s and is now an events venue with over 10,000 square feet of space accented with a lofty steel beam ceiling, polished concrete bars and vintage Kansas City character. The space features a large main hall, separate bar and lounge at the main entrance, open air patio and second story area overlooking the stage while offering views of downtown.

Led by Manager Peter Vermes and captain Johnny Russell, Sporting will kick off the team's highly anticipated 2024 season in Houston against the reigning U.S. Open Cup champions on Saturday, Feb. 24 during MLS is Back opening weekend. Sporting's home opener arrives one week later on Saturday, March 2 against perennial Eastern Conference powers Philadelphia Union.

Season tickets for Sporting's 2024 campaign are available by calling 888-4KC-GOAL and Sporting also offers a variety of ticket packages and promotions including the Home Opener PackandWild West 5-Pack. In addition, single-match tickets for Sporting Kansas City's home matches at Children's Mercy Park in March, April and May are now on sale. College students can also secure $15 tickets to the club's first three home matches in March with the return of the popular Sporting U Pass in 2024.
