Sporting Kansas City News Release
Sporting Kansas City announced on Tuesday a three-year broadcast agreement with Sports Radio 810 WHB to continue serving as the club's official English-language radio partner through the 2017 season.
"We are very excited to continue our partnership with Sporting Kansas City," said Chad Boeger, President and General Manager of Union Broadcasting. "As a locally-owned and operated company, we are proud to support our home-town soccer team. We look forward to our partnership for many years to come."
"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Sports Radio 810 WHB," said Andy Tretiak, Chief Marketing Officer for Sporting Kansas City. "Everyone at the station has been incredibly supportive of our club and there could not be a better radio home for Sporting KC."
Sports Radio 810 WHB aired Sporting Kansas City's season opener live from Sporting Park and has broadcasts rights to the team's matches throughout the duration of the agreement.
The station will also air The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame Show in conjunction with their match coverage, as well as weekly hour-long editions of The Sporting KC Show with hosts Nate Bukaty, Andy Gruenebaum and Carter Augustine. Fans are encouraged to join the discussion all season long by calling 913-3-810-810.
Sports Radio 810 WHB has become one of the largest and most listened to sports radio stations in the country since its formation in 1999. In addition to an over-the-air audience that includes five states (Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma), Sports Radio 810 WHB can also be streamed online at 810whb.com or via their mobile app.
The station first hosted the Kansas City Soccer Show in 2010 and has carried Sporting Kansas City matches each of the last four seasons. Daily programming regularly features interviews with Sporting KC players, coaches and executives - available after they air as podcasts on both 810whb.com and SportingKC.com.
