Spokane Shock News Release

BOISE - The Spokane Shock hit the road for the first time this season and are coming home with 63-45 win over the previously undefeated Boise Burn.

Despite the win, Spokane did lose WR Charles Dillon with bruised ribs for the game in the second quarter after his third touchdown reception of the game. Already short-handed at receiver, WR Andy Olson did not make the trip; Head Coach Adam Shackleford was forced to insert his fourth receiver on the depth chart DB Sergio Gilliam.

Gilliam stepped up and took advantage of this rare opportunity and collected five receptions including a 20-yard touchdown reception, his first as an offensive player.

WR Patrick Bugg also took advantage of his increased playing time and came away with his best game of the young season with four touchdown receptions and 117 yards receiving.

QB Nick Davila had a regular season personal-best eight touchdown passes without an interception for 326 yards.

Defensively, the Shock limited Boise to their lowest point total of the season. Unofficially, Tharp completed 71 percent of his passes - including four touchdowns - but also threw two interceptions. The final interception was picked off by Shock LB Kevin McCullough that sealed the Spokane win late in the fourth quarter.

"Every game we are getting better," DL Ben McCombs said after the game. "You are seeing the beginning of a masterpiece."

NOTES - ROAD WARRIORS: Tonight's victory is the Shock's 12th consecutive road win, a streak that dates back to the 2007 season.

PERFECTION: Spokane's kicker Brian Jackson made all seven of his point after attempts and also converted both of his field goal Attempts (24 yards, 30 yards) tonight. So far this season, Jackson has missed only one PAT.

TWO POINT CONVERSION: FB Harrison Nikolao converted Spokane's first successful two point conversion of the season on a two-yard hand-off.

INJURIES: Dillon left the game in the second quarter with bruised ribs. It's not known if he will be able to play in next week's game at Stockton.

MISSED IT BY THAT MUCH: DL Ben McCombs was given credit for ½ a sack tonight, leaving him ½ short of tying the af2's career sack record currently held by CJ McLain.
