Tri-Cities Fever News Release

Kennewick, Wash. - The Tri-Cities Fever (0-4) came out the gates ready to play scoring on their opening drive, but costly turnovers and lack of ball movement by the offense sealed the Fever's fate to the South Georgia Wildcats (4-1); 34-84.

QB Joe Ayoob (5-for-12, 39 yards) received his forth consecutive start with the Fever and took the offense down field for 37 yards and a touchdown when WR Chase Reed (2-2-1 TD rushing; 3-23 receiving) ran it in from the 1-yard line.

After a pair of turnover on downs and a fumble, QB Jimmy Collins (14-for-26, 153 yards and 2 TD's) saw his first professional action. Although his first drive ended in an interception, he quickly bounced back and threw back-to-back touchdowns to WR Tremayne Kirkland (8-94-3 TD's) to get the score within striking distance at 20-40.

After four unanswered scores by South Georgia, the Fever never gave in and scored twice during the forth quarter, once by a 55 yard Kick Off returned for a touchdown by Kirkland and lastly by a 27 yard touchdown pass from Collins to Kirkland; marking it the third time the two connected for scores.

Defensively the Fever were led by LB Jo'Artis Ratti and DB DeVon Walker whom both had a team high 4.0 total tackles. OL/DL Peter St. John and DB/WR Ray Little snatched up two fumble recoveries and DB Jamie Hattley recorded the first Fever interception of the year during the third quarter of play.

Little became the first Fever player of the year to earn a Player of the Game honor by receiving the JLS Ironman of the Game Award. Little had two receptions for 11 yards, two kick returns for 40 yards, 1.0 total tackle and one fumble recovery.
