Tri-Cities Fever vs. the Nebraska Danger

Several Tri-Cities Fever greats were on hand to honor Lionell Singleton on Saturday night at the Toyota Center, who was recently voted into the Indoor Football League Hall of Fame. He is the first Fever player to be elected to the Hall of Fame.
Singleton played for five seasons with the Fever and holds the IFL record for most career interceptions and most career interception return yards.
The current Fever players tried to channel some Singleton's defensive prowess in the second half, with two interceptions, but it was not enough as the Fever closed out the 2016 season with 52-32 loss to the Nebraska Danger.
"We really wanted to win this game," said receiver Chris Gant. "These fans are great and have come out and supported us; they deserved better."
The Fever ends the season with a 3-13 record and lost its final nine games of the year. The win snapped Nebraska's eight-game losing streak as it plays Billings in the first-round of the playoffs next weekend.
"This was tough," said receiver Akeem Foster. "We wanted to get a win tonight; we had our chances we just couldn't cash in."
The Fever fell behind 20-0 in the first quarter. From that point, the Fever played the Danger (6-10) even. Tri-Cities closed to 41-26 late in the third quarter on a 5-yard touchdown catch by Jarrell Young. The Fever had a chance to get closer on its first drive of the fourth quarter, but quarterback Will Tudmon was intercepted at the Nebraska 10-yard line to end the drive.
Tudmon and the Fever could not overcome five turnovers in the game. Tudmon, who got the start at quarterback, got off to a slow start completing just 4 of his first 16 passes in the first half. All four completions were to Gant.
Tudmon finished the game 10 of 34 for 123 yards and four touchdowns. He did have three interceptions. Gant led all receivers with five catches for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Rob Brown had another solid return game, taking three returns for 95 yards, including a 53-yard return for a touchdown to start the second half.
Tre Watson led the defense with two interceptions and one pass break-up. He also had a tackle-for-loss. Ricardo Thompson led the team with eight total tackles, including one for-loss.
