Windsor Spitfires News Release
The Spitfires had a quick turn-around after losing on Thursday night. They rode the bus up to the Aud in Kitchener for a matchup with the red-hot Rangers on Friday night.
In the first period, it was the Spitfires getting on the board first. Just under 7 minutes in, the Spitfires scored off a turnover as Morneau fed Spellacy and he sniped his 4th on the year. Less than a minute later, the Rangers would tie it up at 1 on the powerplay. Late in the period, the Rangers would score to go up 2-1 heading into the break.
The next 40 minutes were disastrous as the Spitfires gave up 7 unanswered goals. Special teams were a major focus of the game as the Rangers powerplay went 3/3 and the Spitfires were 0/8. Nesbitt would score with 4 seconds left for Windsor's 2nd goal.
The Spitfires would fall by a final score of 9-2.
The Spitfires are back in action tomorrow Saturday the 18th for a rematch vs the Rangers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm
