
Spitfires Drop Close Decision 3-2 and Trail Series 3-2

The Spitfires dropped a tough 3-2 decision in Hamilton in Game 5 and now trail the series 3-2.
In the first period, the Spitfires got out to a great start and scored the games opening goal just 8:42 into the first period. Cuylle found Johnston whos' shot was stopped but bounced off the back glass and off the back of the goalie into the net. Just 5 and a half minutes late the Bulldogs scored on the powerplay to tie it at one. The Bulldogs had an 11-10 shot advantage after one period.
In the second period, just over three minutes in the Spitfires would score on a beauty tip from Abraham. Maggio and Henault had assists on the goal. Just under 10 minutes late the Bulldogs would score again on the powerplay. After 40 minutes we were tied at 2. The Bulldogs led in shots 17-15.
In the third period, the Bulldogs would score just two minutes into the period off a Spitfire turnover and narrowly hold on as the Spitfires mounted pressure but couldn't buy one. The Bulldogs would win 3-2 and take a 3-2 series lead.
The Spitfires and Bulldogs are back in action on Monday June 13th for Game 6 in Windsor. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm.
