Just over 3 minutes later, the Spitfires restored their lead. DeAngelis passed it to Miedema in the slot who toe-dragged around the defender and sniped his 1st of the season. 10 minutes later and three quarters through the period, the Spirit capitalized on a turnover and tied the game at 3. A minute and a half after that, Maggio in his first game back scored to give the Spitfires a 4-3 lead. Maillet and Cristoforo on the assists. It was Cristoforo's first OHL point. The Spitfires led 4-3 on the scoreboard and 30-24 in shots after 2 periods.
In the third period, the Spirit would turn the puck over and Christopoulos would make them pay. He collected the puck at the Spirit blue line and ripped a shot through 2 defenders and past the netminder for his 2nd of the season.
