(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) The Saginaw Spirit shutout the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-0 Wednesday night. Goalie Anthony Peters earned his first OHL career shutout in his Spirit debut, with Jordan Szwarz, Kyle Bochek, Jordan Skellett and Jack Combs all contributing goals in the effort. The Spirit are in fourth place in the OHL Western Conference, and second in the West Division, with 47 points and a record of 22-14-0-3.

The Spirit came out of the gates strong, posting three unanswered goals in the first half of the game. Winger Jordan Szwarz notched the first goal of the game, at 16:55 in the first, courtesy assists from center Tyler Murovich and center Jack Combs. Center Kyle Bochek followed with a goal at the 13:00 mark of the second period, assisted by winger Kain Allicock. Spirit winger Jordan Skellett would give the team a 3-0 goal advantage with his ninth of the season less than two minutes later at the 14:50 mark. Winger Chris Chappell assisted on the goal.

Combs would tally an unassisted shorthanded goal at the 19:46 mark of the third period to round out the scoring 4-0. The Spirit offense would end the night with 37 shots on net.

Spirit goalie Anthony Peters notched 19 saves on 19 shots and Greyhounds goalie Cody St. Jacques tallied 33 saves on 37 shots.
