SAGINAW, MI. - Ryan McDonough scored once and added two assists to lead the Saginaw Spirit to a 7-3 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,956 at the Wendler Arena.

Tyler Murovich, Tomas Zaborsky, Brad Smith, Nick Crawford, Joe Pleckaitis and Jack Combs also scored for the Spirit, who ended a four-game winless streak with the victory. Saginaw is now 12-14-3-1 on the season.

Ryan O'Reilly, Zack Torquato and Justin Hodgman scored for the Otters. Erie saw a three-game winning streak end with the loss as they dropped 7-21-2-1 on the season.

Hodgman extended his goal-scoring streak to six games and his point-scoring streak to nine games with a late power-play goal. Torquato and Sean Jones (who assisted on the Hodgman goal) also extended their point-scoring streaks to nine games.

Saginaw led 2-1 after one and 4-2 heading into the third.

The Spirit out shot the Otters 45-23 in the game as Shane Owen took the loss.

The Otters return to action tomorrow (Friday) night when they travel to London to face the Knights at 7:30 p.m. The game can be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.

Saturday the Otters return home to meet the Kingston Frontenacs at 7:30 p.m. at the Tullio Arena. The first 2,500 fans into the game receive a free taco courtesy of Taco Bell.
