Guelph, Ont. - The Saginaw Spirit (3-2-0-0) hit the road to begin a two-game swing starting Friday night with the Guelph Storm (1-2-1-0) at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph, Ontario.

The Spirit played the Sudbury Wolves Sunday, October 9, and were victorious 5-2. Anaheim Ducks prospect Pavel Mintyukov had two goals and an assist in the win. After a seven-point (4 goals - 3 assists) weekend, Mintyukov was named the OHL Player of the Week.

The Storm faced off against the Niagara IceDogs Saturday, October 8, taking a 5-2 win. Anaheim Ducks prospect Sasha Pastujov scored a goal and an assist in the victory.

Head-to-Head Matchup:

Saginaw opened their 2022-2023 season against Guelph and won 10-6 at the Dow Event Center in Riverfront Saginaw, Michigan. Pavel Mintyukov recorded five points in the victory for Saginaw.

Players To Watch:

Dean Loukus is tied for the lead in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in assists (8). Pavel Mintyukov leads the OHL in points (12) and is tied for the lead in goals (5). Tristan Lennox leads the Spirit with 4.36 goals against average (GAA) and a .832 save percentage (SV%).

Danny Zhilkin leads the Storm in goals with three. Michael Buchinger and Matthew Poitras share the lead for assists with five. Poitras leads points with seven.

Saginaw returns home Saturday, October 22, as they host the London Knights at The Dow Event Center in Riverfront Saginaw, Michigan.
