Lowell Spinners News Release

LOWELL, MA - Coming into Thursday's game, the Lowell Spinners (13-4), proud affiliate of the 2018 World Champion Boston Red Sox, were feeling good for a number of reasons among them was the guy on the mound: Yusniel Padron-Artilles.

Padron-Artilles was on his game Thursday, mystifying the Vermont Lake Monsters (8-10) to the tune of a two-hit shutout, leading his guys to a tight 1-0 victory on Thursday night at LeLacheur Park.

The lone tally of the game came in the bottom of the second inning. After Antoni Flores led the inning off with a double down the right field line, Alex Erro followed with a double over the Lake Monster's right fielder, Nick Osborne's, head. The ball one-hopped the wall, Flores scored easily and the Spinners took an early 1-0 lead.

That would all Lowell would need as Padron-Artilles would carry them the rest of the way. He picked up his third win of the season, allowing just two hits while striking out 10 and walking one in six innings of work.

The bullpen also turned in a solid performance with three shutout innings - one coming from Robinson Leyer, who earned a hold in the game. The other two came from Brendan Nail, who picked up his third save on the season, throwing two shutout innings. Nail also struck out five of the seven batters he faced.

The Lowell Spinners, proud affiliate of the 2018 World Champion Boston Red Sox, offer Season Ticket Packages, Mini-Plans, Group Sales, and Single Game Tickets.
