Lowell Spinners News Release

LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners, Class-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, announced they will hold a special ticket fundraiser Monday, July 22, where from midnight to midnight, a portion of all tickets sold will directly benefit the One Fund Boston.

Tickets for all remaining 2013 home games, purchased via phone, through www.LowellSpinners.com and at the Box Office [10am-4pm] will be available, with the amount of the donation varying by ticket price.

"When the tragic events of April 15 and the days that followed occurred, we knew we wanted to do something to help," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "We didn't want to rush into something without adequate preparation, rather we wanted to maximize our efforts and we hope this promotion will accomplish just that."

In addition to the upcoming fundraising promotion, the Spinners have incorporated "B Strong" emblems on each member of the team and staff's batting helmets and welcomed Watertown Police Chief Ed Deveau, Sgt. Jeff Pugliese and Sgt. John MacLellan on Opening Night for a special first pitch ceremony.

"The Merrimack Valley community was really impacted by the attacks," said Bawmann. "We continue to look for ways to contribute and ways to help those affected and will continue to do so as the season continues this year and beyond."

Each and every ticket order will directly benefit the One Fund and each ticket buyer will receive a "B Strong" decal, a larger version of the emblem on the Spinners batting helmets.

Fans wishing to make a direct donation to the One Fund are encouraged to do so by visiting www.onefundboston.org.
