-SPIKES AND D-DAYS FACE OFF IN RUBBER MATCH: The State College Spikes and Auburn Doubledays meet tonight at Falcon Park in Auburn, NY for the final game of a three-game series, and the final game of the Spikes' six-game road trip. Each team has taken one of the first two games of this series. Auburn leads the all-time series, 19-13.

-LAST NIGHT: State College hit the ball early and often last night, pounding Auburn pitching for season highs in runs and hits in a game in a 10-4 win at Falcon Park. The Spikes' first five hitters all reached safely on base hits, scoring four first-inning runs in the process. State College continued the attack throughout the game, producing 12 hits and scoring in each of the last five frames. Andy Vasquez went 3-for-5 and scored a pair of runs for the Spikes. Kyle Morgan and David Rubinstein also added multi-hit peformances, with Rubinstein's being his third of the year. Nelson Pereira got the win in relief, and retired the last eight batters he faced in order.

-SPIKES BRING MAC ATTACK: Kyle McPherson gets the nod to start tonight for State College. The right-hander took the loss in his 2009 Spikes debut, going 4 2/3 innings and allowing six runs (four earned) on ten hits against Mahoning Valley this past Tuesday. McPherson is in his third different season with the Spikes, after spending the final week of 2007 and the whole 2008 season with the Spikes.

-SOUTHPAW CRAWFORD STARTS FOR AUBURN: The Doubledays counter with left-hander Evan Crawford. Crawford went five innings against Jamestown to get the win in his first start of the season five nights ago. Crawford allowed one unearned run on two hits and three walks, while striking out three. The Auburn University alum was Toronto's seventh-round draft pick in 2008, and led the Tigers as a senior with a 2.42 ERA.

-POWER OUTAGE: The Spikes and the Oneonta Tigers are the only teams left in the New York-Penn League currently without a home run this season. Williamsport leads the league with seven so far in 2009.
