
Spicer and Patterson on target as Battery defeats Eagles

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery defeated the Charlotte Eagles (USL2) by a score of two goals to none Wednesday evening at Blackbaud Stadium in a pre season scrimmage. Darren Spicer and Randi Patterson each scored in a rain-soaked game.
Darren Spicer scored the first goal after 10 minutes, slotting home neatly from a Mike Richardson cross.
Former UNCG standout, Randi Patterson scored the Battery's second, also in the first half. Patterson won the ball just inside the Charlotte half and finished convincingly after a strong solo run.
The Battery plays its final pre season game on Saturday at Blackbaud Stadium versus the Wilmington Hammerheads (USL2); kick off is set for 2 PM.

The Battery's 2008 home opener is set for Saturday, April 19 versus the defending champions, the Seattle Sounders.
