Vancouver Whitecaps News Release
VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC is pleased to announce a new partnership with Saputo Inc. The new relationship will see Saputo involved in a number of Whitecaps community initiatives, including the Kickin' with the 'Caps program. Kickin' with the 'Caps is a partnership between the Whitecaps and local club soccer teams, providing inspiration and a team-building experience at a Whitecaps home match.
To kick off the new relationship, Saputo - in partnership with Air Canada - will hold a public speaking contest for children aged 6-18 at the Whitecaps home opener versus the Montreal Impact on April 12. The contestants will have one minute to express why they would want to cheer on the Whitecaps at the new Whitecaps Waterfront Stadium.
The winner, selected by a representative from the Whitecaps and Saputo, will receive four tickets to fly to Montreal courtesy of Air Canada, two nights accommodation, spending money and four tickets to see the Whitecaps versus Impact match at the new Saputo Stadium in Montreal on Monday, May 19. The runner-up will receive a Whitecaps camp scholarship and four tickets to a Whitecaps home match. Full contest details can be found at www.whitecapsfc.com/contest. The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries and the quality of the speeches submitted.
The Whitecaps open the 2008 regular season at Swangard Stadium against the Montreal Impact on Saturday, April 12. Season tickets are now on sale, starting at $199. Call 604.669.WAVE (9283) or visit whitecapsfc.com for more information
