[WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.] – The Winston-Salem Polar Twins have something special planned for both home games this weekend at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum Annex. Fans can enjoy great hockey action as well as some great promotions as the Jacksonville Barracudas and Asheville Aces come to town for a fun and exciting weekend of hockey.

On Friday the Polar Twins will host the Barracudas at 7:30 p.m. for the second half of a home-and-home series. After dropping the first game in Jacksonville last weekend, the Twins are looking to rebound for their first win of the season against the ‘Cudas. Friday is also Country Music Night, sponsored by WFMX 105.7 FM. Join WFMX live before the game and special musical guests Broadstone and Last Chance (featuring former members of the Marshall Tucker Band) for live performances throughout the game. The first 500 fans through the turnstiles will receive a free Polar Twins team poster, compliments of the Winston-Salem Journal as well as a tin of beef jerky courtesy of Wrangler.

Saturday night the fun continues as the Polar Twins host the Asheville Aces and Throwback Night, also at 7:30 p.m. While trying to shoot down the Aces, the Twins will sport unique retro jerseys that will be sold in a live auction following the game. Attending the contest will be special guests from past Triad hockey teams, including the original Polar Twins. The first 500 fans in the building will receive a free bumper sticker. All tickets for Throwback Night are $5 and can be purchased by calling the Polar Twins office or through the LJVM Coliseum Box Office. There will also be a post-game skate with the players on Saturday so bring your ice skates. Fans can also rent skates from the Annex for $2.50.
