La Crosse Spartans News Release

La Crosse, WI: As it often happens with expansion franchise's in professional sports, there is often an adjustment period that takes place until the team feels comfortable on the field. The La Crosse Spartans are hoping that they have put their early struggles behind them, as they look to shock the Indoor Football League world tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Sioux Falls to take on the undefeated Storm in a 3;05 p.m. showdown.

The Storm are on their road to redemption after last season's non-playoff appearance, and have been arguably the league's best team through their first three games. Last week, Sioux Falls hosted the defending Champion Billings Outlaws and handed them their first loss in a 37-31 victory. They are lead by Quarterback Terrence Bryant, who has thrown ten touchdowns versus one interception, and 2009 All-IFL Second Team Running back Sean Treasure, who is averaging 50 yards per game on the ground and has found the endzone three times. If the Spartans want to win this game, neutralizing these two will have to be their top priority.

La Crosse is coming off a lopsided 48-12 defeat at the hands of division rival Green Bay last week, and is eager to right the ship against the 3-0 Storm. The team signed free agent Quarterback Kewan Dewberry this week to help rejuvenate an offense that only generated 86 of total offense. It is still undecided whether Coach Gilbert Brown will give him his first start in a Spartans uniform or allow Ben Chester another opportunity to lead the team. Look for them to put the ball in the hands of the IFL's 2009 Scoring Leader Ulysses Odoms more often this game as they try to put more points on the board.

Fans who wish to watch the game can purchase a season or individual game pass on www.b2livetv.com . The team comes home on April 3rd for their first ever home contest against the Omaha Beef. Tickets are still available and can be purchased via the La Crosse Spartans website, www.lacrossespartans.com, or at the La Crosse Center box office. It will be the first of five home games in the month of April in a 27 day period.
