Sparks Center Nicky Anosike to Undergo Knee Surgery

Los Angeles Sparks News Release
Los Angeles - The Los Angeles Sparks announced today that Nicky Anosike will undergo arthoscopic knee surgery on her left knee tomorrow and will miss about six weeks of the season as she recovers.
"After further evaluation of her knee, we decided that performing surgery now, rather than later, would be her best option, so that we could have a 100 percent healthy Nicky for the remainder of the season," Sparks Vice President and General Manager Penny Toler said.
Anosike played in the three Sparks preseason games, but has not dressed for a game yet this season. The 6'3" center is in her fifth year in the WNBA and signed with the Sparks this offseason after playing three years with the Minnesota Lynx and last year with the Washington Mystics. She is averaging 9.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in her career.
The Sparks started off the season 3-1 with two wins over the Seattle Storm and a win over the Phoenix Mercury. They take on the Tulsa Shock tonight at 7:30PM at STAPLES Center. Tonight's game will be televised on Time Warner Cable 101.
