Los Angeles Sparks News Release
LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Sparks, Waste Management of Southern California employees and Sparks fans across Southern California collected 1,326 pairs of shoes to benefit Goodwill Southern California during the third annual "ÃËBag your Shoes' campaign.
The "ÃËBag your Shoes' campaign took place over a three-game home span that took place prior to Sparks games held August 16, 25 and 27 at STAPLES Center. During the campaign, fans brought in over 300 pairs of new or gently used shoes. In addition, Waste Management employees across Southern California collected over 1,000 pairs of shoes to surpass the goal of collecting 1,000 pairs for Goodwill Southern California. Shoes donated to Goodwill Southern California support employment programs and services for individuals with disabilities or vocational disadvantages.
Thanks to Waste Management, Sparks fans who donated shoes were given an eco-friendly Sparks/Waste Management water bottle and one lucky fan will win a Sparks Honorary Coach experience for the 2014 season.
