Great Falls, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox defeated by the Billings Mustangs 7-6 at Centene Stadium. Carlos Perez (1-0) picked up the win as he worked 3 innings in relief. The loss went to Logan Ondrusek (0-1) for the Mustangs as he worked only 2 innings allowing only 4 runs on 4 hits.
The Sox scored first in the game as they put three runs on the board in the top of the first inning. RBI hits by Rolando Acosta, Brandon Allen, and Chris Getz made the score 3-0 Great Falls.
The two teams would then exchange runs in the second and third inning before the Sox took an eventual 5-2 lead into the fifth. In the top of the fifth, Billings scored twice on an unearned run and an RBI single by Ben Mummy.
In the 7th inning Brandon Allen would hit one out over the right field wall for a two run home run extending the lead to 7-4. Billings would then score twice in the ninth and have a runner on third with no outs before Jay Marshall caused a groundout and two strikeouts to end the game. The Sox would win 7-6.
Tomorrow night the Sox will play the third of this four game series against the Billings Mustangs. The starters for the game are: Carlos Torres (RHP) for Great Falls and Aaron Garrison (RHP) for Billings. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.
