Great Falls, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Helena Brewers 6-2 at Centene Stadium. Luis Pena (0-1) took the loss in relief as he worked three innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits. The win went to Simon Beresford (1-1) as he worked three innings, allowing three hits.

Helena wasted no time to get on the board. In the top of the first Freddie Parejo singled in Ryan Crew to put the Brewers up 1-0. It wouldn't be until the fifth inning that we would get our next run. It was an RBI single by Brandon Allen to tie the game before a JJ Schmidt doubled to bring Allen home to give the Sox a 2-1 lead.

The Brewers would then tie the game on an unearned run in the seventh. After Darren Ford reached on an error, he was brought home by another Crew double.

Helena would then take the lead in the ninth inning as the Brewers loaded the bases and scored once on an error before an infield single by Lorenzo Cain.

That was followed by another Sox error allowing two more Brewers runs. Helena went on to win 6-2.

Tomorrow night the Sox will open a four game series with the Billings Mustangs. The starters for the game are: Paul Moviel (RHP) for Great Falls and Logan Ondrusek (RHP) for Helena. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.
