Sox lose sixth in a row

Great Falls, MT Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Casper Rockies 9-6 at Centene Stadium. Matt Nachreiner (1-2) took the loss in relief for the Sox as he worked one and a third innings, allowing three unearned runs. The win went to Rickey De Los Santos (1-2) as he worked one inning in relief, allowing one run. The save went to Andrew Johnston (8) as he worked a perfect ninth.

Great Falls scored first as they scored one run in each of the first four innings to go up 4-1. A sacrifice fly by Matt Tribble, a homerun and an RBI single by Francisco Hernandez, and Brandon Johnson scored on a wild pitch. Casper's run came on a run scoring double by Geoff Strickland in the fourth.

In the sixth inning, Casper scored three runs to tie the game. Kyle Blumenthal scored on an error before run producing hits by Bret Berglund and Strickland. The Sox managed to take the lead for the second time in the bottom of the inning when Hernandez came home on another wild pitch. Great Falls had the lead at 5-4.

Casper would again fight back in the seventh when they tied up the game on a bases loaded walk issue by Matt Nachreiner. The Rockies would take the lead for the first time in the eighth inning when they scored once on an error before a two run homerun by Blumenthal. Great Falls added one harmless run in the bottom of the inning and went on to lose 9-6 to drop their sixth in a row.

In the game Matt Tribble lost his hit streak which ended at 13 games, and the Sox committed six errors in the ballgame.

Tomorrow night the Sox will play the fourth game of this four game set with the Casper Rockies. The starters for the game are: Paul Moviel (RHP) for Great Falls and Allen Johnson (RHP) for Casper. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.

News and Notes: The Grand Opening of the new Great Falls Hall of Fame will be on July 22nd, when the Sox host the Idaho Falls Chukars. The opening is set for 5pm
