Helena, MT -Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Helena Brewers 6-4 at Kindrick Field in Helena. Carlos Perez (1-1) took the loss in relief as he worked three innings allowing three runs on three hits. The win went to Dane Reinkart (1-0) for the Brewers as he worked 1.2 innings out of the bullpen, allowing only one hit.
Helena scored in the first inning on an unearned run to take an early lead. It stayed 1-0 until the Sox came to bat in the top of the fifth inning. Great Falls loaded the bases with no one out, and scored three unearned runs to pull ahead.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Helena got a solo homerun from Charlie Fermaint to make the score 3-2. The Brewers would draw even at 3-3 on a solo homerun by Brenden Kaiten in the sixth inning. Helena added another unearned run in that same inning to take a 4-3 lead.
In the eighth inning, Helena would score two more times and take a 6-3 lead. The Sox tried to comeback in the ninth but was only able to score one run as they would fall by the score of 6-4.
Tomorrow night the Sox will play the second of this mini two game set in Helena. The starters for the game are: Yunior Novoa (LHP) for Great Falls and Chris Jean (RHP) for Helena. Game time is at 5:05pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 4:50.
