Billings, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Billings Mustangs 2-1 at Cobb Field in Billings. James Casey (1-3) took the loss in relief as he worked two innings, allowing one run on one hit. The win went to Jeff Stevens (4-3) as he worked four and a third innings, allowing only three hits.
Great Falls broke the pitchers duel in the top of the fourth inning on a double by Rolando Acosta to score Francisco Hernandez to give the Sox a 1-0 lead.
Noe Rodriguez pitched his best game of the year and took a three hit shutout to the seventh inning. In the seventh, Billings tied the game on an RBI single by Josh Holden.
Billings would then take their first lead of the game in the eighth inning. With runners on the corners and one out, Acosta misplayed a ground ball and the go ahead run scored. The Sox would fall 2-1 in the road trip finally.
Tomorrow night the Sox will return home take on the Helena Brewers for the opening of a six game home stand, and the first of two with the Brewers. The starters for the game are: Yunior Novoa (LHP) for Great Falls and Rafael Llubares (LHP) for Helena. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.
