Nashville Sounds News Release
Nashville starter Nelson Figueroa (12-5) shut down the Sky Sox offense Monday night pitching a complete game shutout allowing only 3 hits. David Newhan was the lone bright spot for the Sox offense recording 2 of the 3 Sky Sox hits and stealing his 3rd base of the year. Sox starter Cory Vance (8-10) pitched 7 solid innings allowing 3 runs on 8 hits striking out 7 and walking 1 but recorded his 10th loss of the year. The Sound and Sox square off again Tuesday night for the final game of the series with Scott Elarton (3-6, 5.85) taking the mound for the Sox against the Sounds Matt Bruback (7-9, 4.07).
