San Angelo Colts News Release


San Angelo, Texas---Two southpaws were signed today as the Colts get a big boost in pitching. San Angelo signed lefties Logan Williamson and Frank James, both of whom were starters last season. Williamson was re-signed after spending the 2010 season with San Angelo. James, a former member of the Colts, spent last season with the rival Coastal Bend Thunder.

Logan Williamson, a native of Pensacola, Florida, began his pro-career at Rookie-League Bristol in the White Sox organization after being drafted in the 27th round by Chicago in 2004 out of Pensacola Junior College. In Logan's first stint with San Angelo in 2008 he had a big year leading the league in wins, going 12-4 with a 4.50 ERA overall. After splitting time between Grand Prairie and Shreveport-Bossier of the American Association in 2009, going a combined 9-5, he returned to the Colts last season. Although Logan began the season with Brockton (Can-Am League) and Grand Prairie, he went 4-2 with a 3.69 ERA for San Angelo appearing in 12 games, making six starts.

Frank James, who is from Clear Lake, Texas, is a familiar face to San Angelo fans mostly as a member of the Colts, but has also been an opponent on several occasions. Frank was selected by the Oakland Athleticsin 38th Round (1143rd overall) of the 1999draft out of Navarro Junior College. The 2011 season will be a milestone for Frank making it a decade in professional baseball. Frank has also played for Colts General Manager Mike Babcock before while with the Rockford Riverhawks in the Frontier League from 2003-05 (All-Star in 2003 and 2004). After beginning the 2006 season with Calgary in the Northern League he joined San Angelo down the stretch as the Colts made it to the playoffs. James, who was an All-Star for the Alexandria Aces in 2007, had his second stint with the Colts in 2008, when he went 7-5 for San Angelo. Frank spent the last two seasons with the rival Coastal Bend Thunder.
